Contents
Epiduo Adapalene 0.1% (1 mg), benzoyl peroxide 2.5% (25 mg). Epiduo Forte Adapalene 0.3% (3 mg), benzoyl peroxide 2.5% (25 mg)
Indications/Uses
Epiduo Cutaneous treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris in patients ≥9 yr. Epiduo Forte Cutaneous treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients ≥12 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Epiduo Apply thin film to entire acne affected areas once daily in the evening on a clean & dry skin. Epiduo Forte Apply thin film to the entire acne affected areas of the face, chest & back once daily in the evening on a clean & dry skin.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Damaged skin, either broken (cuts or abrasions), eczematous or sunburned. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Do not come into contact w/ eyes, mouth, nostrils or mucous membranes. Avoid waxing as depilatory method; concomitant use of other potentially irritating topical products (medicated or abrasive soaps & cleansers, soaps & cosmetics that have strong skin drying effect & products w/ high conc of alcohol, astringents, spices, or limes). Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or UV radiation (sunlamps). Do not come into contact w/ any coloured material including hair & dyed fabrics as this may result in bleaching & discoloration. Contains propylene glycol (E1520) that may cause skin irritation. Renally & hepatically impaired. Lactation (avoid application to the chest when used during breastfeeding). Childn (<9 yr for Epiduo) (<12 yr for Epiduo Forte). Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Epiduo Dry skin, irritative contact dermatitis, skin irritation, skin burning sensation, erythema, skin exfoliation (scaling). Epiduo Forte Mild to moderate application site reactions, eg, skin irritation characterized by scaling, dryness, erythema, & burning/stinging.
Drug Interactions
Not to be used concurrently w/ other retinoids or benzoyl peroxide or drugs w/ similar mode of action. May produce additive irritant effects w/ cosmetics w/ desquamative, irritant or drying effects. Possible cumulative irritancy effect w/ concomitant topical acne therapy especially w/ the use of peeling, desquamating, or abrasive agents (not recommended).
